Coaching for Healthcare Executives

You work within an incredibly complex and rapidly changing field. Your field is also highly competitive, even in the not-for-profit arena, as competitors woo away good people, chipping away a slice of excellence each time.

Healthcare leaders need to be able to create highly effective, stimulating work environments that deal their staffs a minimum of conflict. It’s hard enough to attract the best talent in the first place; you need to create the kind of healthy environment that will keep them there.

I have spent thousands of hours working with executives in healthcare at many levels of public, private and not-for-private organizations throughout the U.S.  

I’ve worked in a coaching relationship with:

Working in health care is one of the most demanding, stressful and difficult jobs ever created. It can also be one of the most rewarding. You must have executive presence at all times, the ability to speak to groups with no advance notice. You must be skilled in building relationships and trust – the “people skills” needed to facilitate resolution to difficult challenges. You must be able to simplify complex issues.

You must be proficient in balancing patience and exceptional listening skills with the ability to be decisive. And somehow through it all, you want to maintain some semblance of work-life balance.

I work with healthcare executives on all these issues, primarily by telephone, in private one-to-one executive coaching sessions and in very small groups of individuals in similar positions. As a Master Certified Coach (MCC) with a doctorate in leadership and communication, I work with healthcare executives to help them manage all their responsibilities, and help them hone the management, communication, influencing, supervisory, conflict resolution and leadership skills.
