About Our Logo
From time to time we’ve been asked about our pinecone logo. Our logo represents the enduring spirit of the pine tree in the family of conifers.
Members of this family of trees include the giant redwoods (the tallest tree in the world at 385 feet), the ancient sequoias (which live up to 4000 years) as well as the tall, straight bristlecone and ponderosa pine stands on our own property in Conifer, Colorado. (Yes, there really is a town in the mountains west of Denver named Conifer. It’s near Pine and Evergreen. We’re not making this up. But we digress.)
Throughout history and in many cultures, the pine tree is symbolic of life, resiliency, longevity, rebirth, even immortality. In fact, in the Korean culture, the pine tree represents integrity and morality.
Coniferous trees are highly adaptable, growing in many habitats from desert edge to rain forests, from sea level to mountain timberline, and from the artic to the subtropics.
Just as the tiny acorn grows into a mighty oak, the pine cone provides the seed for the giant redwoods and the ancient sequoias. These small cones are resilient enough to withstand the intense heat of massive forest fires, only to release the seeds for the first trees to become established after the fire. These hardy pines thrive in the face of adversity. They are fast growing and tolerant of poor soils and the most hostile and arid conditions.
At CEO Partnership, we see the pine cone as a metaphor for our clients and our coaching. The two pine cones in our logo, one slightly behind the other, represent the supportive partnership that is forged in the coaching relationship. The cones also represent the seeds of greatness in our clients, their resilience and steadfast strength in the face of adversity, their ability to grow anew and be reborn, their ability to stand tall and strong and live long and thrive.
A testament to life itself, the pine tree grips the earth and grows, year after year, in some of the world’s most inhospitable places. Our logo represents our clients and their enduring spirit, their propensity for growth and their adaptability.
